Les sciences de la nature

In M Hussey's class, we are starting a new group research project about different space missions. We are thrilled about this new adventure.

This morning we had the pleasure of attending our second celebration of learning assembly. Next month, our class will be one of the classes featured. We are very excited to start thinking about what we will share.

Homophones and Book Clubs

Today in FLA, we started our study of homophones. Over the next four weeks, we will study four different groups homophones that kiddos often struggle with. Each day, we will spend 5 or so minutes reviewing and adding to our knowledge about the group of homophones of the week. This week is <a>and <à>.

Last week in ELA, students had the chance to hear about some amazing books that they have the opportunity to read. After hearing about each of them, students chose their top three books and with that information, students were put in groups based on their book preference. Over the next 5 weeks, students will be reading and meeting to discuss their chosen book.

A few pictures of us hard at work on our Google Doodles!

Devinez-vous haiku et RIRE

Today we presented our Guess Who Haiku assignments.  The kiddos did a great job of giving creative hints about characters from The Hockey Sweater in the form of Haiku and the audience loved guessing who the presenter was describing.

This afternoon, Mme Boyko and Mme McLauchlan visited us to review our four core values: Respect, Integrity, Responsibility and Excellence. Students were given guiding questions to reflect up on and in small groups, they recorded what each of these values looks like, sounds like, feels like etc. to them.

Freak the Mighty and Haiku!

In ELA today, we continued watching The Mighty, the movie of Freak the Mighty, a novel we read as a class. So far, we are enjoying the movie but there are many differences from the book.

In FLA, we finished our Haiku drafts for characters from Le chandail. We revised our drafts with three peers and tomorrow we will be typing up our good copies.

Google Doodle

In sciences humaines we've been busy researching about why provinces and territories decided to join confederation. As a creative way to demonstrate our learning, students have been tasked with creating a Google Doodle that represents their province or territory of choice by including an illustration or symbol for each part of their research. Stay tuned for pictures of the kiddos working as well as their final products!
